Letter to the Editor: Support for Amy Chen
As voters consider candidates for the Foothill Municipal Water District Board, I encourage support for Amy Chen for Division 4.
Reliable water service depends on more than simply delivering water today. It requires careful planning for emergencies, ongoing infrastructure maintenance, and responsible stewardship of public funds. Amy Chen’s background as a professional engineer makes her uniquely qualified to address these challenges.
Our water district faces important decisions regarding aging infrastructure and future capital improvements. Amy has the technical expertise to evaluate project costs, assess risks, and compare alternative proposals to ensure that ratepayer dollars are spent wisely. Her engineering experience will bring an analytical, fact-based approach to board decisions.
Amy also recognizes the importance of emergency preparedness. Whether facing wildfire, earthquake, power outages, or other unforeseen events, our community must have a resilient water system capable of responding when residents need it most. Her commitment to preparedness and long-term planning will help strengthen the reliability of our water infrastructure.
The Water District Board needs members who can ask thoughtful questions, understand complex technical issues, and make balanced decisions that protect both our water supply and our ratepayers. Amy Chen brings the experience, judgment, and commitment necessary to serve our community well.
