Letter to the Editor: Support for Chen
Clean, potable water. It seems so simple, but that water relies on a complicated infrastructure to get to our homes. As a voter and homeowner whose property is in Division 4, I want my representative on the Foothill Municipal Water District Board to have a deep understanding of that complexity.
Amy Chen is that person. Her 40-year career as a professional water engineer and policy advisor means she has the hands-on experience to understand both the technical and policy sides of water. Amy began at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and then spent nearly three decades with the San Diego County Water Authority where she advised policymakers on consequential decisions involving rates and finance, regional water policy, major infrastructure investments, and long-term supply planning.
Amy has lived in LCF for 30 years and raised her family here. She has a proven track record of caring about the well-being of this community. She is currently a commissioner on the LCF Public Works & Traffic Commission and that commission’s representative on the Emergency Preparedness Coordination Committee. She was formerly a member of the LCUSD School Bond Oversight Committee and the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation Board.
Amy is an extremely well qualified candidate. She will make the right decisions to keep our clean water flowing.
