Rare Opportunity for Experienced Leadership

I don’t remember ever having voted for someone running for the Foothill Municipal Water District Board. And I certainly didn’t know the somewhat peculiar boundaries of Division 4. But I do know the importance of clean, available, and affordable water to the people of La Cañada — and the rest of the world.

In this election we have two very fine people running who have been longtime residents of the city. One has high name recognition. The other, Amy Chen, has served our community on the Public Works & Traffic Commission and the LCFEF, and it’s been my pleasure over the last few months to get to know her quite well as a person and a professional.

Amy has the distinction of being a water engineer who is a 40 year veteran in working with the LADWP and shaping water policy for San Diego County, together representing much of the population of Southern California. Now we have the opportunity to take advantage of her extraordinary expertise in as a Water Policy Engineer in a portion of our small city. I could not pass up that opportunity, which is why I have voted for Amy to serve on the Foothill MWD Board, Division 4. I urge all of my neighbors who are in Division 4 to vote for her as well.

Given that she has been introducing herself house by house to the division’s residents, you might have met her and been as impressed by her knowledge and experience as I have. If you haven’t yet met her you can learn about her from her website, www.amy4foothill.com. Her email address and phone number are on her website and I’m sure she would be happy to talk with you.
